One of âùºìÔºNorth’s key objectives is strengthening communication and fostering engagement across the University. We seek faculty, professional staff, and students to join us as âùºìÔºNorth Advocates. In this role, you will represent âùºìÔºNorth as ambassadors, communicators, and advocates within your respective colleges and communities. The selection process for each âùºìÔºNorth Advocate will be based on either self-nomination or nomination by a college dean/center director.

We empower educators to inspire meaningful change in their classrooms and beyond through workshops, resources, and collaborative opportunities.

UNE’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is a resource that promotes excellence and innovation in evidence-based, student-centered teaching, emphasizing inquiry, inclusion, and community. Additionally, a new Planetary Health Module is ongoing for faculty to use as a resource to incorporate into their classes. âùºìÔºfaculty and professional staff have the opportunity to leverage the resources at âùºìÔºNorth and participate in various conferences and workshops.

In the past, members from UNE’s community have been engaged with 42˚N: New England Forum for Arctic Collaborations, a workshop that combines academic expertise in Arctic research across New England with researchers, stakeholders, and external partners concerned with environmental, economic, and social impacts.

The SeaMade Bars project is an external project with solid ties to âùºìÔºNorth. In 2024, SeaMade Seaweed Company gifted âùºìÔºtheir nutrition-bar company to transition it to a âùºìÔºteaching tool that will offer a highly visible example of interdisciplinary collaboration and an all-natural, honey-and-kelp treat made by students using locally sourced ingredients.
